HOT CHOCOLATE AND BOOK TALKS
ALESIA & ANDREEA
Article 5-Kristen Simmons
by Andreea
"Article 5" is an amazing and unique dystopian, set in the ruins of the United
States, where the people are ruled by the Moral Statues, or, as the heroine calles
them, the Moral Militia.
What makes this book so unique, compared to other dystopian novels is the fact
that Ember, the heroine, does remember how the world used to be before the
dystopian time, which doesn't usually happen in most dystopians.
Ember, a seventeen-year-old girl, is sent to reformation camp after her mother
breaks Article 5. The whole book is an adventure, for Ember to escape the reformation camp and save her mother.
The world is so beautifully created and nothing like any other dystopian universe. I find that for me there is only one type of a book to help me get over a book hangover, dystopians. But this one is even better. Dystopians have started to become a little to similar in a way, I am not complaining and finding a dystopian that can distinguish itself from all the others is making me so happy.
Ember is such a badass and Chase is so cheesy inside, the things he does to protect and save her, once you get past the chapters in which she's in reformation camp, you'll see what I mean.
I really liked this book and after Winter (800 pages of goodness) it was just what I needed, a captivating, action-packed, easy read.
If you're a fan of dystopians or you are going through a book hangover, you should pick up this book. You won't regret it.
